This summer, many students participated in various activities and events. Some volunteered for community service hours, while others spent time with friends and family.
I Interviewed three students overall, One thing in common with all of these students is that they did something new for the first time this summer.
The three people I interviewed explained that they spent the summer travelling. One student said she spent the week in New York City visiting her older brother, Hung out with friends, did summer sports, and visited the beach frequently. One student said she spent time painting and sketching new drawings while in Madrid. And another student spent his summer at a football camp in Tampa and Miami!
Sports are a big part of students lives here at PBC, so to stay in shape and get ready for school sports or higher league sports, students must keep on playing over the summer. One of the students I interviewed said he got to practice with his team at the UMiami college indoor football field on their campus! Footballers train, workout, and practice with their team over the summer so they are prepared when school starts.
The second student I Interviewed said she played beach volleyball and traveled to North Carolina to go play with her team! She was also a camp counselor this summer at “All American Sports Camp INC.”. She also said she had the best time ever visiting her older brother in New York City, where he lives. She said she visits frequently. She went to Central Park, festivals, and lots of famous landmarks like Kats Deli, the Statue of Liberty, and Times Square! She also explains how her grandparents have a cabin in Georgia, so her and her family also stayed there for a few days.
The last student I interviewed said she spent most of her summer working on new art skills and tried new things in art like pottery and using oil pastels. She also visited many museums, landmarks, shops, and beaches in Madrid, Spain, Which is here he parents are originally from! She went to the Prado, Museo Naval, Caixa Forum, and the Matadero Madrid Museum!
All of these students did productive, fun, and interesting activities this summer. These three students all traveled and did the things they loved and we hope this was a great summer to never forget for them!
