Jeffree Star and Kanye West rumor debunked!
April 12, 2021
On January 5, TikToker Ava Louise dropped a bombshell on her fans by announcing that artist Kanye West was having an affair with influencer Jeffree Star. A few days later, she dropped another one: it was all a lie.
I STOPPED HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Due to the toxic communication between Kim Kardashian and Kayne West, the couple decided it would be best for them to get a divorce. They have kept their official reason confidential and have peacefully parted ways in their own ways to keep things civil between the family.
However, TikTok star Ava Louise, says otherwise. On January 5th, 2021, Ava Louise posted a video about her supposedly knowing the “real reason” why Kanye West and Kim Kardashian split up.
“This whole divorce is no surprise. Kanye has been hooking up with a very famous beauty guru, a male beauty guru,” said Ava Louise. “A lot of people in the scene have known for a while.”
She posted this with zero explanation, and with 957 thousand likes, people started to believe her. Right around the time the capital riots were happening, the rumor that Ava made had quickly spread on Twitter and to other social media platforms. Fans of Kanye and Jeffree tweeted to add to the conspiracies about the selfie Jeffree posted on the 6th of January, captioned “I’m ready for Sunday Service,” which is a line from one of Jeffree’s songs released in 2009, which mentions Kanye West in the lyrics.
There was also a recent picture of Jeffree skiing with a figure that looks similar to Kanye in the reflection of Jeffree’s sunglasses; this picture shortly started to surface on Twitter and Tiktok as well, adding flames to the made-up conspiracy. Meanwhile, Kanye did not make any type of move to explain his side of the situation circling around him on social media or to the press.
Ava Louise was popular for other reasons before this rumor started. Her debut was made on the show Dr. Phil, where she was put on because of her unhealthy relationship with social media. She had become obsessed with her followers and likes, to the point where she said she would do anything for internet attention.
Many people may also know Ava Louise from her TikTok song called the “Skinny Legend Anthem”, which is a trendy song about being skinny and attractive that brought her even more attention and followers on social media. She also came up with the “CoronaVirus Challenge,” where you lick a public toilet seat, accompanied by viral videos of her doing the infamous challenge. Inferring from what she has done before in order to gain followers and likes, the rumors started to become hard to believe.
A couple of days after the scandal surfaced and the internet had blown up, Jeffree Star posted a video on his channel addressing the rumor, titled “Addressing The Kanye Situation”. The video started off as a vlog and dragged on for several minutes until Jeffree finally answered everyone’s questions about the scandal.
“Let me just say this one time for any news outlet: I like very tall men,” He answered. “Me and Kanye have never hung out, and this whole thing is really funny. So I guess if this is the start of my new year, happy new year.” Jeffree added.
After the rumors of Jeffree and Kanye being together were debunked, Ava didn’t show much care for it. One of Louise’s friends posted a voice text of her saying that she doesn’t care that the rumors have been proven just rumors and that she made a lot of money from it.
“I’m literally not even getting sued, I made the entire scandal up,” said Ava confidently. “There is literally not one bit of truth to anything I have said. I just tricked the entire world into talking about me again because I was on a lot of Adderall.”
Again, Kanye West nor Kim Kardashian had any take on this entire situation, keeping their distance from each other even through social media.
“At first, I did believe the scandal because there were so many clues,” stated Juanita Ballestas, a sophomore at PBC. “I was watching all the videos on tea channels on YouTube, but when I saw Jeffree joking about it, I knew it was fake and that he is only doing this to get more clout and publicity.”
As far as rumors go, this scandal has been rebuked, showing that people on social media need to check the source before believing everything social media influencers say on their platforms.
“Yes, I did because I saw it on Tiktok, Instagram, and Twitter everywhere,” explains Sara Price, a sophomore at Central “But, after Jeffree made a video about it, the topic died down and no one talked about it anymore.”
As shown, many students believed it until Jeffree addressed the situation on his YouTube channel. Somehow, Ava Louise’s impact with the video she posted convinced many viewers about a rumor that had no substance to it.
